Mauritius Onion Fritters
|
Ingredients
225 grams of besan flour
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds coarsely crushed
2 large onions finely sliced
2 green chillies finely chopped
2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
Vegetable oil for deep frying
Cooking Instructions
* In a bowl, mix together the flour, chilli, turmeric, baking powder and a little salt to taste.
* Then add the crushed cumin seeds, onion, green chillies and coriander leaves. Mix together.
* Add a small amount of water mixing simultaneously to make a thick batter.
* Heat some oil in a wok or a deep frying pan.
* Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
* Drain well and serve hot.
